well.
petty annoyance: the apostrophe/quote key on the laptop is not working. email in to tech guy since Apple site not particularly helpful.

sleep still elusive. *sigh*

very happy thing: one parcel mailed to self from Scotland has arrived, awaits at post office. that leaves one mailed-to-self parcel to go. not bad, not bad at all.

slightly nervous-making things:
uni starts next tuesday. still somewhat apprehensive but excited, too.

not sure how well the second job with the boy and his family is going. will give it a month of two-jobs+uni and see.

truly fun things: in cleaning out stuff, I find I downloaded and burned all 8 chapters of Hornblower (TV). oh, nice nice nice- ships and men and sea and sails. mmm, very good.

If there's one thing that I've learnt by trying to defeat Madagascar this game* is that in the event of a global plague of any kind everyone should move to Madagascar. It takes nothing short of a uber!plague to infect that place and a stealthy one at that.

Ogni tanto una coccola bisogna pur farsela.
Ieri esco a cercare delle semplici infradito da spiaggia (impresa quasi impossibile alla fine dei saldi di agosto, vi assicuro), e sulla strada del ritorno decido di allungare il mio giro shopping andando a curiosare in un outlet grandi marche piuttosto conosciuto dalle mie parti. A dire il vero non so se sia esattamente un outlet, ma il titolare alla cassa fa sempre sconti stratosferici... poi magari il prezzo di base è gonfiato, eh :P chi lo za. Voci maligne parlano di giri di mafia legati a sto posto, allegria. Comunque. Essenzialmente vendono abiti da cerimonia (infatti le uniche altre volte in cui ci sono entrata è stato per cercare l'abito per il matrimonio di mio fratello e quello della laurea), ma al piano di sopra hanno anche un assortimento di scarpette degno di nota. Per cui mi son detta, massì. Girovago e magari mi rifaccio gli occhi con qualche sandalo da cinquecento euro tempestato di swarowski (sospir.), mi provo qualche Gucci a caso, un paio di tacco dodici e poi rimetto tutto a posto. Se non fosse che...
Se non fosse che, ramingando, vedo le MIE scarpe. Non sono sandali gioiello, ma ballerine della Diesel assolutamente adorabili. Era da secoli che cercavo un modello simile. Era da secoli che volevo un paio di scarpe rosse. E in più... hanno lo sconto del 50%. MIE. C'è un 41! Miracolo! Che trovo pure per caso, dopo un attimo di disperazione, perchè eran state riposte nella fila sbagliata *__*
Posso permettermele. Le compro all'istante, e mando a quel paese swarowski e Cavalli e Armani eccetera eccetera.

Eccole. Perdonatemi, ma le amo alla follia.
